House Industries’ lettering artist and type designer Ken Barber (blog) joined the TypeMedia crew for two days for a lettering workshop. (flickrset)

Teamed up with several interested students and exchange students from the third year Graphic Design dept, Barber introduced his work and the House Industries design studio.

A second presentation dug deeper into what lettering is, how it differs from type design and “normal” typography. Then a demo and the students off drawing. Drawing continued Friday morning, with a grueling but public evaluation at the end.
